Real-time reports from the Spitfire® DataMaster analytics tool recently helped set the scene for an HPI investigation into a lift cylinder failure despite the cylinder being replaced only two weeks earlier.

Graphs and data for the loader show key elements such as G-forces (gravity and motion), gear transitions and brake pressure. These indicate that at the time of the lift cylinder failure, the machine was parked and in neutral gear. Knowing this could help the HPI investigators determine the root cause of the incident.

A simple addition to our existing Methane Master system and part of the Spitfire® range, DataMaster MR captures and stores up to 6000 hours’ worth of time-stamped, critical data as a diesel vehicle comes within WiFi range. This data can trigger maintenance alerts and notifications, underground shift data visualisation, and vehicle maintenance optimisation.

Machine data collected from various sensors on a vehicle can be accessed using a mobile device in a remote location or a computer on the surface. Troubleshoot without having to inspect the machine and avoid unexpected down time or overhaul costs with access to information such as:

  4. Critical engine pressures including fuel, oil, boost, water and air temperatures
  5. CH4 sensor readings
  6. RTD monitoring – to measure critical engine temperature and initiate shut down if required
